Poetry analysis (Q1), prose fiction analysis (Q2), and the open literary argument (Q3). Thesis as interpretation, evidence and commentary on literary elements, sophistication. 12 steps, then a 40-minute timed FRQ scored on the 6-point rubric.

AP English Language and Composition

The rhetorical situation, synthesis (Q1), rhetorical analysis (Q2), argument (Q3). Defensible thesis, line of reasoning, sophistication. 12 steps, multiple-choice practice, then a timed FRQ capstone.

Not sure which one? Literature is about how a poem or a story makes meaning. Language is about how a speech, essay or article persuades.
